Web developers: what HTML output would you expect from this 960gs layout?

The What

Given this layout with a 960gs overlay (looking only at the white page and ignoring the outer, gray border):

Line by line, what HTML would you expect a 960gs layout generator to output?

The Why

I’ve been working on a tool that lets you export webpage designs created in Lean Designs (formerly jMockups) to HTML/CSS. Right now the plan is to launch a tool that lets you generate create 12-column 960gs-constrained layouts and later expand it to be more robust.

The good news: exporting a constrained, 960gs layout works. In a Frankenstein, it-needs-a-lot-more-work kind of way, but it works.

And that’s where you come in: what HTML output would you expect from the 960gs layout above (using the appropriate 960gs syntax: container_xx, grid_xx, alpha, omega, etc). For the most part it’s easy, but there’s a few small but important decisions that you (and I) have to make along the way that I’m hoping will spark some discussion.

If you’re interested in participating, please shoot me an email with your solution: matt@leandesigns.com. As a bonus to anyone who emails me, I’ll give you early access to this tool when it launches in a few weeks. Thanks!
